A IMPORTÂNCIA DO PIBID NA FORMAÇÃO ACADÊMICA DOS GRADUANDOS EM LETRAS – INGLÊS – UMA EXPERIÊNCIA MODIFICADORA

     O presente trabalho almeja discutir como o Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID) tem contribuído para a formação acadêmica de três bolsistas do subprojeto “Language & Literature – Letras Inglês” da Universidade Federal de Goiás – Regional Jataí. O PIBID é um programa criado pela CAPES, que tem como principal objetivo estreitar os vínculos entre a Universidade e o Ensino Básico, fazendo com que os bolsistas deste projeto se familiarizem com o sistema público de educação, ainda no período de graduação. O subprojeto supramencionado, que se iniciou em 2012, atende ao Colégio Estadual Marcondes de Godoy e concretiza o objetivo do programa geral ao trabalhar com clássicos da literatura inglesa na Educação Básica, pretendendo assim desfazer o mito de que não se pode aprender Inglês em tal ambiente. Além disso, o subprojeto ainda oferece monitorias em contra-turno para que os alunos possam sanar dúvidas relacionadas a qualquer tópico de língua inglesa, além de promover workshops (oficinas) de diferentes temáticas a fim de dinamizar o ensino do idioma em pauta. Fazer parte de projetos como o PIBID nos permite pensar em possibilidades inovadoras em relação ao ensino de línguas em escolas públicas, além de ter a oportunidade de construir uma formação docente humanizadora e emancipatória. A oportunidade de vivência no âmbito escolar permite uma atuação diferenciada, pois nós, bolsistas PIBID, teremos consciência e estaremos mais amadurecidos no que concerne à docência. Autores como Wollmann e Braibante (2012) afirmam que o programa aqui discutido é uma ferramenta de suma importância para a formação acadêmica do graduando, uma vez que ele engloba não somente os conhecimentos teóricos, mas também os de ordem prática.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PIBID IN EDUCATION OF UNDERGRADUATES IN LETTERS - ENGLISH – A MODIFYING EXPERIENCE

   This paper aims to discuss how PIBID - the Institutional Program Initiation Grant to Teaching - has contributed to the academic formation of three students from the subproject "Language & Literature - English Language" at the Federal University of Goiás - Regional Jataí. PIBID is a program created by CAPES, which aims to strengthen the links between the university and Basic Education, making the grant recipients  of this project become familiar with the scope of public education still during undergraduation  period. The mentioned sub-project, which began in 2012, works in partnership with Marcondes de Godoy, a State School and embodies the aim of the general program to work with Classics of English Literature in basic education, intending thereby to dispel the misconception that you cannot learn English in such environment. In addition, the subproject also offers tutoring in  extra-curricular shifts for the students to answer questions related to any English-speaking topic, and promote workshops  of various topics in order to boost the language teaching. Being part of projects like PIBID allows us to think of innovative possibilities in regard to language teaching in public schools, in addition to having the opportunity to build a humanizing and emancipatory teacher training. These school experiences enable us to have better performance because PIBID students are aware and more mature when it comes to teaching. Several articles state the program discussed here is an important tool for the students’ academic background, since it comprises not only theoretical knowledge but also practical.
